CLIPPERS SCORE 100 IN WIN AS LIGHTER MAKES CLIPPERS DEBUT

Canadian Trinidadian Mark Lue Hue, poured in 24 points to lead the Caledonia Clippers to a 100-71 win over Spartans at the St Paul street multipurpose facility when the Big Basketball League continued.

In what was Steven ‘Lighter’ Lewis’ Caledonia Clippers debut, they started slowly, leading Spartans 24-22 at the end of the first quarter.

But Orlando Mapp scored 11 of his 17 points in the second quarter as the Clippers pulled away 54-42 at the half, but Spartans were still within reach.

The third quarter was even, as the Clippers’ lead (76-54) did not increase at the end of the third.

SPARTANS’ SHORNELLE POMPEY HAS THE ATTENTION OF THE CLIPPERS’ BENCH

The Clippers held on for the win as former Defence Force coach Gerald ‘Nate’ Toney rolled back the clock, as he hit 4 threes for the Clippers in his debut for the new team. The interim player coach scored 17 points. 

Steven Lewis scored 14.

For Spartans, Shornelle Pompey scored 17 and Jaylon Sergeant contributed 16.

The BBL will go into the Christmas Break and will resume on Wednesday, December 28th.
